Minors

A Bachelor of Arts in Journalism does not require the completion of a minor. However, many students elect to complete a minor to gain additional expertise in an area beyond the major.

Minors require between 15-24 hours (depending on the minor). Courses used to satisfy General Education Requirements may also be used to apply toward a minor. However, courses used to satisfy major requirements may NOT apply toward a minor. Successful completion of a minor will be noted on your transcript.

Minors are offered through the Architecture, Arts & Sciences, Fine Arts, Business, Engineering, and Geosciences. The College of Education and the Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication do not offer minors.

A complete list of undergraduate minors is available at the Provost's Web site. You may also download checksheets listing specific minor requirements through this Web site.

The Student Services Center (Gaylord Hall, Room 2520) also has checksheets for some of the more popular minors our students pursue.

Please note: All requirements for a minor must be completed concurrently with your undergraduate degree.
