Undergraduate Program Overview


The Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication's goal is to provide students with the most effective training and preparation possible for careers in every facet of the mass communication industry. This education includes conceptual courses in journalism history, ethics, public opinion, communication law, public relations and advertising; various delivery systems, including print and broadcast; and craft courses in gathering, writing, editing and processing information.


The Gaylord College offers professionally-oriented undergraduate degree programs in the following fields: Strategic Communication (Advertising and Public Relations); News Media (Journalism); and Media Arts (Broadcasting and Electronic Media, and Professional Writing).
