Mosaic: Social Justice Symposium
The vision of Mosaic: Social Justice Symposium is to celebrate tradition, history, culture, and diversity within our University community. This unique event provides a space for University students, faculty, staff, and alumni and outside community members to learn and discuss contemporary issues of social justice through presentations, research, and discussion forums.
The student led presentations focus on the vast spectrum that is social justice, including, but not limited to, human rights, gender disparities, political and cultural oppression, racial discrimination, classism, sexuality, education, economic inequality, ableism, ethnicity, religion, and environmentalism. Together, Mosaic participants will challenge the origins of oppression and inequality, empower all people to exercise their own voices, and encourage others to realize their full potential as global citizens. The symposium will build social solidarity and foster the ability and will for collective action. As we explore the many identities of social justice, we aim to grow collectively stronger to form a perfectly imperfect work of art: a mosaic.
As a distinguished supporter of the University of Oklahoma community, you are invited to attend the Gender + Equality Center's third annual Mosaic: Social Justice Symposium on Saturday, November 18, 2017 The symposium is free and open to all registered guests.

Start Smart Workshop
Women still earn only .77 cents to every dollar a man earns. Over the course of a woman's career, this can add up to a million dollars in lost earnings! The $tart $mart Workshop provides women with information on how to overcome the gender wage gap through benchmarking and negotiation skills.
The next Start Smart Wage Equality Workshop will be held Tuesday, October 24th from 5:00-7:00pm in the Heritage Room of the Oklahoma Memorial Union. Click here to register!
