Truly a gift that keeps on giving
Endowment funds provide the foundation that has allowed OU to move into the top tier of American public universities. At the end of the 2008 fiscal year, OU’s total endowment was $1.15 billion.
An endowment leaves the principal donation intact, with only the earnings from the investment spent for the purpose designated by the donor. OU donors can create endowments to support a wide range or programs and areas.
Currently, the majority of OU’s endowments support named scholarships and faculty chairs and professorships.
