Memorial Contributions

Donors can memorialize a friend or loved one with a gift to OU through the University of Oklahoma Foundation Inc.

The Foundation staff will acknowledge the gift and will notify the decedent’s family of all memorial gifts. To assist in this, donors to memorials are asked to provide full name of decedent and name, as well as the address, of the spouse or family member to be informed of memorial gifts.

Often, the family has listed a specific fund for memorial gifts, so donors are asked to provide that information or appropriate instructions about where the memorial gift should be deposited. A copy of an obituary notice, if available, is very helpful.

Occasionally, donors are interested in significant and long-lasting memorials, such as endowed scholarship funds, which can be established at $10,000 or more. To discuss such a gift, call the Development office at (405) 325-1700.
