OU President David L. Boren, right, and former adviser to presidents, noted commentator and best-selling author David Gergen conduct a dialogue at a President's Associates event.A membership in the President’s Associates gives you a ticket to OU’s major events, including dinners featuring speakers – renowned in politics, current events, and academics – from around the world. Among the recent dinner headliners have been Colin Powell, David Gergen, and F.W. de Klerk.
The Associates have served as co-hosts of such Norman campus events as the openings of the Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication; the Mary and Howard Lester Wing of the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art; and the Donald W. Reynolds Performing Arts Center.
Another popular and highly anticipated activity is the annual Associates “Beat Texas” event, which draws nearly 1,000 guests. In the past few years, Associates events have also been held in Amarillo, Austin, Boulder (Colo.), Dallas, Duncan, Fort Worth, Houston, Jackson (Miss.), Los Angeles, Midland, New Orleans, Oklahoma City, and Tulsa.
