OU's Commitment to Scholarships

You can certainly reach your goal of becoming a Sooner largely because President David L. Boren is committed to keeping the door of opportunity open for all qualified students. Even though OU’s tuition and fees remain near the bottom of the Big 12, OU’s Campaign for Scholarships has allowed the university to double new scholarships for students in the last five years.

How To Apply

Step 1 - Application

Freshman:
Apply by February 1 to be considered for general freshman scholarships. Academic merit-based scholarships are determined on a rolling basis after admission. To be considered for leadership, community involvement and some departmental scholarships, submit the Common Application and OU supplemental questions by the scholarship deadline.

Transfer:
The general transfer scholarship application is part of the transfer transfer admission application. The deadline for these scholarships is March 1. Please note: you must be an admitted student in order to receive a scholarship offer. If you are not admitted by the time scholarship applications are evaluated, you will not be included in the applicant pool.

Step 2 - Update

A few weeks after admission, you will be able to update or add to the scholarship responses you submitted to the OU supplemental questions. If you have not set up your OUNet account, visit ou.edu/ouit/new.

Once your OUNet account is activated, sign in to oZone with your OUNet ID (4+4) and password, and then under your "Personal Notifications" box on the right, select "Update your incoming freshman scholarship application." You can continue to update your responses until the Feb. 1 scholarship deadline. Please note that submitting your responses will finalize your application.
