Class of 2012
Hometown: Carrollton, TX
Major: Electrical Engineering

Saluton, readers!
It's here, the moment you've been waiting for- the final segment of my “What do I do now?” list!
Here goes:
6. Get a checking account at a bank with convenient branches- It's important to make sure that there is a branch within a realistic distance from campus in Norman and, if your parents plan to help you financially, make sure there's one in your hometown, too. It's important to balance the convenience in both locations.

Parev, readers! (Little shout-out to the Armenians out there..)
Here's part 3! 5. Join a fitness class- I am a geek. In fact, I am a sun-avoiding, social interaction-fearing, couch potato, computer-gaming geek, so you might be surprised that I'm suggesting this. Why would I take up my precious gaming time exercising? Continue reading June 30...
Last time, I told you I'd be back with more ideas of things you do this summer to prepare for next year, and here I am, so let's get right down to business, shall we? Continue reading June 23...
Let me start off by sending my congratulations to the class of 09! If you're like I was, for the next few weeks, you'll be kind of like, “Hey, I don't have homework to do for next year, this is great!” And you'll bum around for a bit. Continue reading June 18...
Man, readers, I don't know about you guys, but I'm really getting frustrated with this whole looking for a job thing. The idea of it doesn't seem too hard, you go places, fill out applications, then pick the one you like best. One small problem with that: few places are looking for new employees right now, so for the number of applications you fill out, you just don't hear back from many, if any at all even call you. Continue reading June 12...
First of all, I must apologize because the last month and a half has been a blur of test after homework assignment after paper, so I've barely had time to sleep, let alone write blog entries. Things are starting to calm down a bit, though, as we come up to the end of the semester, so expect to see much more of me in the next few weeks. Continue reading April 16...
Today was the first really nice day since last semester (it was in the mid-70s!), and I felt like being outside and enjoying the weather, so I went to the pond! There's a duck pond on campus, just on the other side of the stadium and the field house from where classes are held. It's called Brandt Pond, and is supposedly named after the 6th president of OU, Joseph Brandt (if you're interested, his wiki page is here, check out “The Brandt Years” in the citation that links to Sooner Magazine).

It snowed! While this might not be a big deal for some of you, I'm from Texas, so I'd never seen real snow until this January. If you're in the same boat I was in, let me tell you, snow is so much fun. It's so clean and white and it goes <crunch> when you step on it. Ice, however, is another story entirely. Continue reading January 30...
I've discovered something rather interesting since I got here: very few people get much sleep. What with all the fun things that go on in the evenings, it's difficult to make yourself go to sleep, even if you have classes in the morning. In other words, when you get to college, chances are you'll get to know your campus pretty well by night. Continue reading October 27...
Hey readers! Sorry it's been so long since I've updated, life here's been rather busy. In my last post, I promised I'd tell you about the beginning of the year, so here goes! First off, Camp Crimson was a blast! For those of you who don't know what Camp Crimson is, it's basically an orientation weekend extravaganza that takes place about a month before school starts. I made so many friends, and really got a feel for campus. Continue reading October 15...
Hey prospective students! This is Kathryn, and over the course of the next year, I'm going to be filling you in on all of the exciting aspects of student life here at OU. So, right about now, you're probably thinking to yourself, "Self, who exactly is this Kathryn chick?" Well guess what? I'm going to be extra nice today and tell you a few things about me. I'm an electrical engineering major from Carrollton, Texas, and I really like Cinnabon. Yes, there is a Cinnabon on campus, and it makes me quite happy. Continue reading September 8...
