It’s that time again…

Less than a week of school is left, which means the dreadful thought of finals is right around the corner. So just as the first semester, OU has dead week, which is the week before finals when professors are not allowed to assign any work that was not previously stated in the syllabus. Dead week for me consists of one quiz and a lab final, which is actually quite stressful considering that I still have 5 other finals I have to study for. But no worries, the average freshman usually does not have 6 finals in one semester, I just have three discussion classes (classes that offer a more intimate focus on the material; usually a discussion class is paired with a large lecture class, such as macro economics so you can better understand the material).

The Amazing Professors of OU

Often times you hear about how some college professors are extremely hard teachers, assign endless amounts of homework, and don’t care about what your grade is in their class. Well, I’m here to tell you that is not the case at OU! Continue reading May 6...

Junior Day = A Success

So two weeks ago I volunteered at Junior Day and it was awesome! I woke up at 7:30 Saturday morning (I know! It was tough.) and headed to Jacobson Hall to begin helping with registration. An hour or two later, juniors and their parents began to check-in, and, as always, the Oklahoma wind was present and definitely making itself known!  Continue reading May 6...

Trip to the Arbuckle Mountains!!

So for all of you guys who are interested in Geology as a major (or something related to it), make sure you take Geol 1114. A couple of weekends ago, I attended a mandatory field trip to the Arbuckle Mountains with my Geology 1114 class. While I thought that waking up at 7 in the morning on a Saturday (the only day I have to sleep in!!) to look at some mountains was cruel and unusual punishment, I underestimated just how much fun the trip was going to be.

Ice Takes Over Norman!

So, as I am sure most of you know, this winter has been nothing short of snow and ice with frigid single degree weather. Being from south Texas, it is not every day that you walk outside and see mountains of ice and snow. But that’s the good thing about Norman, expect anything! …good for students anyway ;)

Hello All!

I hope you guys had a wonderful Christmas Break. As for me; I had a blast doing absolutely nothing! Well, not quite nothing, but a month and a day off is plenty of time to recuperate from the first semester. But now that you are half way done with your senior year (or maybe even junior year), it is time to start thinking about the important stuff… Continue reading January 21...

Big 12 Championship…Kansas City!!

So the game was, as expected…AMAZING!! Besides the 20 degree weather and my feet nearly getting frost bite, I had a blast!! As most of you may know, OU won 62-21 against the Missouri Tigers, claiming the Big 12 title. Continue reading December 7...

Thanksgiving…Countdown till Christmas Break!

Hello again, So Thanksgiving was last week and I hope you all had a wonderful break! I went home to Katy, Texas and had way too much to eat, but other than that, everything was great! I left OU the day before Thanksgiving because I had a late class Tuesday night, but the campus was literally a ghost town due to the fact that most students had already left. Besides that, the semester is almost over, and the countdown to Christmas Break has begun!  Continue reading December 3...

Hello All!

It has been a good while since I last wrote, but in that time, a few things have happened… Who Says College Students Don’t Trick-or-Treat? At OU, the dorms hold this event called “Safe Trick-or-Treat” that allows for little kids to go room to room and trick-or-treat. Continue reading November 12...

The Adventure Continues…

3 Rules to Live By in Norman 1. Invest in rain boots!!! This is an absolute MUST! For some reason all the streets in Norman flood with only 10 minutes of rainfall…this also means get an umbrella! =) Continue reading October 27...

Norman thus far…

Hello everyone!! I hope you guys are having a great senior year (or maybe even junior year)! A lot has happened since I last wrote, so if you’re brave enough to make it through this entire blog…I give you props!! =) So as you guys may know from my last blog, I’m an architecture major, or well I was an architecture major. Just recently I decided to change my major to Construction Science, which is still in the College of Architecture, just a different division.  Continue reading October 15...

And the Adventure Begins…

So, to tell you a little bit about myself: I am a freshmen majoring in Architecture, I live in the athletic dorms as a non-athlete to fulfill the 50% athlete 50% non-athlete quota, and I’m from Katy, Texas (outside of Houston).  Continue reading September 8...
