The road to The University of Oklahoma was an interesting one for me. Growing up in northern California, the thought of being a Sooner never really crossed my mind. I had been accepted to several California universities but soon discovered that, due to my plans to spend a year in Japan as a foreign exchange student following graduation, I would forfeit my scholarships and would have to reapply for admission after I returned.
When I received OU’s National Merit scholarship offer, I decided to check it out for myself. Visiting Norman gave me a glimpse of the beautiful campus and warm, OU hospitality. While the scholarship (deferred one year) was great, the beauty and warmth were what won my heart.
I’d love to discuss the possibilities that await you here at OU!
