Texas students choose the University of Oklahoma because of its impeccable quality, ideal size, affordability and because it is so close to home. Known for its academic excellence, rich traditions and strong sense of community, OU provides a major college experience in a private college atmosphere. Although home to almost 19,000 undergraduate students, the campus has a small-college feel. It is difficult to contain the excitement in the fall when the flower beds blush crimson and the campus shakes with the Boomer-Sooner game day yell of more than 80,000 fans. Visit OU’s YouTube channel to see why current students chose OU!
Alumni clubs provide a Sooner family in communities across the state of Texas with activities that range from academic speakers and watch parties to recruitment college fairs. The OU Alumni Clubs actively help students become Sooner Bound Texans with more than $75,000 in scholarship money. Visit alumni.ou.edu to contact the club in your area.

No! More and more Texans are Sooner bound every year. In the 2010-11 academic year students from out of state made up 35 percent of on-campus enrollment at the University of Oklahoma. Of those students, 71 percent were from Texas. In the freshman class about 25 percent were from Texas. For the convenience of Texas students, OU has full-time recruitment staff in Dallas and Houston.
