
Robert Cox
Robert Henry Cox currently serves as the first Director of the School of International and Area Studies at the University of Oklahoma. He also is Co-Editor of the journal Governance.
On the OU faculty since 1989, Cox is an Associate Professor in the School of International and Area Studies with a joint appointment in Political Science. He teaches classes at the graduate and undergraduate levels in comparative politics, specifically focusing on European Politics.
Cox's research focuses on the development and evolution of welfare states in advanced industrialized countries. His publications have appeared in such journals as World Politics, Comparative Political Studies, Politics and Society, Governance, Journal of Social Policy, Publius, and many other academic journals. His first book is The Development of the Dutch Welfare State: From Workers' Insurance to Universal Entitlements.

Michael Barzelay
Michael Barzelay is a Professor of Public Management based in the Interdisciplinary Institute of Management at London School of Economics. Before joining the LSE, he was associate professor of public policy at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. He received his PhD. in Political Science from Yale University in 1985.
Research interests and expertise: Public management. Organisational efforts and methodologies to prepare for the future. Knowledge-creation approaches to risk awareness and rationality. Managing governmental operations in a variety of settings, including defence environment, and economic development. Management of organisational change in governmental contexts.

Joseph Wong
Book Review Editor
Joseph Wong is Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Toronto, Canada, where he holds the Canada Research Chair in Democratization, Health and Development and is the Director of the Asian Institute. Wong received his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2001. Prior to joining the faculty at Toronto in 2001, Wong was an associate in research at the Fairbank Center for Asian Research, Harvard University. He has also been a visiting fellow at the Institute for National Policy Research in Taipei and the Graduate School of Public Administration at the Seoul National University. In 2008, he was a Senior Associate Member of St. Antony’s College, University of Oxford.
Wong’s research interests lie in the area of comparative public policy in the Asia region. His earlier research focused on the impact of democratic transition on social policy. Wong’s current research examines biotechnology development strategies in Taiwan, South Korea and Singapore, and in particular, the intersection (and tensions therein) of industrial, science and public health policies. Professor Wong is the author of the book, Healthy Democracies: Welfare Politics in Taiwan and South Korea (Cornell University Press, 2004) and co-editor (with Edward Friedman) of Political Transitions in Dominant Party Systems: Learning to Lose (Routledge, forthcoming, 2008). His published works have appeared in Comparative Political Studies, Politics and Society, Governance, Studies in Comparative and International Development, the International Political Science Review, Pacific Affairs, the American Asian Review, Nature Biotech, and the Journal of East Asian Studies.
