Governance provides a forum for the theoretical discussion of executive politics, public policy, administration, and the organization of the state. Published in association with the International Political science Association's Research Committee on the Structure & Organization of Government (SOG), it emphasizes peer-reviewed articles that take an international or comparative approach to public policy and administration.
All papers, regardless of empirical focus, should have wider theoretical, comparative, or practical significance. A personal subscription to the journal includes access to the online version, as well as membership in SOG.

* The journal impact factor is the average number of times articles from the journal published in the past two years have been cited in the rated year. The impact factor is calculated by dividing the number of citations in the rated year by the total number of articles published in the two previous years. An impact factor of 1.0 means that, on average, the articles published one or two years ago have been cited one time.
** Governance is not listed among political science journals, though it is frequently read and cited by political scientists. The equivalent ranking indicates where the impact rating for Governance would fall, if it were included as a political science journal.
