Please arrive 15 minutes PRIOR to your scheduled appointment to allow sufficient time for check-in. Patients with women's center appointments should arrive 20 minutes early. If you are late for your appointment, you may be asked to reschedule at a later date depending on your provider's schedule. The amount of time scheduled for your appointment is based on the medical complaint or reason you provide when making your appointment. Additional complaints may require an additional appointment at a later date.
When you check in, you will be given a copy of the Notice of Privacy Practices and asked to sign an Acknowledgement of Receipt and Consent for Treatment form. If this is your first visit, you will be asked to complete a Patient Database Form. Fill out the New Patient Packet Paperwork here.
Your provider’s medical assistant will take you to an examination room, record pertinent information about your condition in your medical record, take your vital signs and prepare you for your exam.
Your provider will address the reason(s) that you gave for your visit. In some cases, you may be instructed to have some additional tests, referred to a specialist, and/or advised to schedule a follow-up appointment.
Be sure to bring your OU Photo ID. If you have questions pertaining to costs you may direct them to the Patient Services. If you have insurance coverage, please bring your card with you when you check-in. If you have been charged the student health fee, you will receive discounted student rates. You may pay at the time of your visit, or charge the fee for service to your bursar account.
Students who have not been charged the health fee will be charged prior to their first visit and then may receive discounted rates. Spouses and children will be charged standard rates.
