The human factors and Ergonomics Society is
an interdisciplinary professional association of
4.600 people involved in the human
factors/ergonomics field. It is the largest
organization of such professionals in the world.
Since its formation in 1957, the Human Factors
and Ergonomics Society has promoted the
discovery and exchange of human factors/
ergonomics knowledge, as well as education
and training for students and practitioners.
The Human Factors and Ergonomics Society is
part of the International Ergonomics
Association, a federation of similar
organizations around the world.
Within the Society are 21 technical specialty
groups representing the diverse areas in which
ergonomics professionals are employed. In
addition, members affiliate with more than 75
regional and student chapters.
