Upcoming General Meeting
            As Adam reported, Willoughby Lounge has been reserved for September 5 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.  As a reminder, general meetings will be scheduled for the first Wednesday of every month.

Ice Cream Fundraiser
            As a fundraiser, HKN would like to start selling ice cream alongside the E-Club hamburger feeds.  Rusty’s has five pound buckets of chocolate, vanilla, or strawberry for $45 each, which serve approximately 100 people.  They also have toppings for $5 per quart or $3 per pint.  Sooner Rocks also has fundraiser options with flexible pricing – we have no direct quote for cost.

Meeting Time Change
            Starting next Thursday, August 30 the meeting time has been changed from noon to 11:45 AM.

T-Shirts
            ECE Department T-Shirts have been discussed as another fundraising option.  Hard Edge sells T-Shirts at $7.50 each when buying at least 48 shirts and $6.50 each in quantities of 72 or more.  The consensus was to buy at least 72.  Matt has a point of contact for a design, which he will report upon next week.  Christina will contact Hard Edge to determine pricing levels for more colors.  The goal is to have them ready by our first general meeting on September 5th.

Social Event Committees
            As a way of getting more members involved, we would like to extend leadership opportunities to non-officers.  To do so, we will offer certain social event planning opportunities to members or groups of members.  More discussion will be held at the September general meeting.

Bylaws Changed
            A few changes were made to the By-Laws:

• A point based system was created to prevent non-participating members from taking officer positions
• The Social Event Committees plan was detailed
• An error was corrected which stated the current officers as founding members

The changes will need to be authorized by signature of the officers by September 14.

Miscellany

• The Global Address book will need to be updated for current officers. 
• hkn@ou.edu is back up and will be used for event planning and such. 
• Dr. Crane discussed the possibilities of having an HKN conference at OU within the next few years.
• An “active” roster of students and professors will be compiled, but not to eliminate non-participating members.
