Application Requirements
Application is open to all qualifi ed high-school seniors and
students already at the University of Oklahoma. Minorities,
women, and fi rst-generation college students and residents
of Oklahoma and Texas are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications include:
• Direct from high school: 3.75 GPA or top 10% of
graduating class; ACT score of 30 or above or SAT score
of 1330 or above (effective for all Fall 2010 applicants).
• OU students with 15 or more hours of college credit: 3.4 GPA.
Area of Study:
Intended energy-related major in the
Mewbourne College of Earth and Energy, College of Engineering,
or Price College of Business.
How to Apply:
Students enrolling at OU directly from
high school and OU freshmen should
send a letter of intent to apply that
includes name, address, major, and
reliable contact information to the
Honors College Director of Recruitment
(see address on back cover). Applicants
already attending college need to
complete the application available
online at www.ou.edu/honors/BP.
All applicants should submit a typed
statement of purpose of 100 to 250
words describing career goals and
aspirations for working in an energyrelated
field.
