| Jeff Bloomgarden is the Director of the OU Scholars Program. He came to the Honors College from Indiana University where he received an MS in Counseling Psychology and worked as an advisor in the Schools of Business and Education and as a counselor in Career and Placement Support Services. In addition to his administrative duties, Jeff enjoys advising students, working with students in crisis and presenting Motivation Seminars in the Student Success series. He also serves on the Enrollment Management Board and the President’s Task Force on Graduation and Retention. Lastly, he continues to search for a quality pastrami sandwich somewhere in the Metro area.

| Carol Carr is a Senior Academic Counselor in the OU Scholars Program. She has been an academic counselor in the Scholars Program since June of 1999. Prior to working at OU, she was an Academic Advisor for six years at Oklahoma City Community College. Carol attended her first two years of college at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, where she was born. Her dream is to one day return to Durango to live. She is an alumna of the University of Oklahoma, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 1987 and her Master of Education degree in Community Counseling in 1991. She is active in her church and loves being at home with her son and two dogs. |

| Betty Eppler has worked in the Honors College since 1992 and currently works as an Administrative Assistant in the OU Scholars Program. She maintains the databases and works with the scholarships in the OU Scholars Program. Betty likes to go country dancing and enjoys spending time with her two grandchildren Lauren & Ethan. |

Christina Norman
is the Assistant Director of the OU Scholars Program. Christina has served the program as an academic counselor since July of 1997. She particularly enjoys helping students identify their academic goals and navigating the freshman year experience. Christina also serves as the advisor for the OU Chapter of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. She is a member of the Provost Advisory Committee on Academic Advising and is currently serving as chair of the committee. An alumna of the University of Oklahoma, she received a Bachelor of Musical Arts in 1993 and a Master of Human Relations in 1997. Employed by OU since 1993, she has experience in a variety of areas in Higher Education including a graduate internship in Prospective Student Services as well as positions in the Office of the Bursar and Office of Project Support and Compliance Assurance. Christina also serves on the Board of Directors of the Children’s Arts Network in Norman, Oklahoma. |

| Jennie Arndt has enjoyed the OU campus since 1989, either as a student, an academic counselor or an instructor. Before joining the OU Scholars Program as an Academic Counselor, she advised incoming students at University College. She has enjoyed the chance to connect with Sooner freshman as an instructor for OU’s unique Gateway to College Learning course. In 2007, Jennie was nominated for the Oklahoma Academic Advising Association Outstanding Advisor. Jennie holds two degrees from OU: a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Marketing, and a Master’s in Adult and Higher Education. She is a huge Sooner sports fan, and regularly attends football games, home and away. Jennie’s 5-year-old son was the March of Dimes ambassador child for Cleveland County, and Jennie serves on the organization’s local WalkAmerica committee and on the Board of Directors for central Oklahoma. Her favorite way to spend time involves anything with her son and her husband of ten years. |

Jeff Cooper
Jeff Cooper is a Norman native who serves as an Academic Counselor in the OU Scholar’s Program. Prior to working at OU he was an Art Preparator at Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa and the Mabee Gerrer Art Museum in Shawnee Oklahoma. Jeff received two degrees from the University of Oklahoma, a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Art History.
In his free time Jeff enjoys going to concerts and playing the bass in a loud rock band. He also enjoys traveling abroad, as he has visited Italy, France and England. However, his all-time favorite and frequent destination is New York City.
During his professional experience as an Academic Counselor at OU, he has taught the Gateway to College Learning course as well as Strategies for Success. His previous collegiate teaching experience was at Oklahoma State University, where he taught an Introduction to Art History class.

Anne Vorndran
Anne Vorndran is an Academic Counselor for the OU Scholars Program. Anne received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Oklahoma in 2005, while working as a student assistant in the OU Scholars Summer Enrollment Program. Anne spent two years living and studying in Philadelphia at Drexel University and received a Master of Science in Psychology in 2007. While in graduate school, Anne’s main research interests were in the areas of risk factors and gender differences in adolescent depression. Anne presented her thesis work entitled “Adolescent Depression: Gender Differences and Risk Factors” at the Association of Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies Annual Convention in 2007. Prior to returning to the OU Scholars Program, Anne worked as a counselor at an outpatient treatment center where she worked to reunite parents with substance abuse issues with their children. Anne feels that the college experience is invaluable and is extremely excited to work with first year students as they embark on this new chapter of their lives.
