Juan Williams Visit

On September 6th 2007, we were pleased to host NPR Senior Correspondent, Juan Williams, to a Question and Answer session with Dr. Howard’s class, The Leader in You, The Leader in Us.
Seated in the relaxed atmosphere of the Honors College Library, Mr. Williams responded to a series of questions posed by students and faculty concerning issues of American race relations, minority leadership, and political leadership (in a broader context). The open forum, which was scheduled to last only an hour, lasted far longer than we anticipated as students – who apparently couldn’t help themselves -- continued to ask probing questions and Juan – who apparently couldn’t help himself – continued to reply. He nearly missed his flight home! In the round, his visitation to our class proved to be one of the most fruitful visits yet. We hope to have him back again soon!
