Freshman Scholarships
The OU Scholars Program is the largest source of academic scholarships for direct-from-high school freshmen
entering the University of Oklahoma. Qualified applicants are awarded one
of five levels of scholarship. The scholarship is awarded in the form of a
resident or non-resident tuition waiver based upon the student's residency
status. |
For more information about these scholarships, you may select from the following links.
Selection Criteria
|
 |
Selection criteria for Award of Excellence, Honor and
University Scholar Awards include high school performance (as measured by
GPA and class rank) and academic potential (as measured by ACT or SAT
scores). |
 |
Students who receive the Regents Scholar Award must be
recipients of the Oklahoma Academic Scholars (OAS) Award from the Oklahoma
State Regents for Higher Education. |
 |
Recipients of the Valedictorian Scholarship must be
ranked #1 in their class. Other criteria for this scholarship
include applicant's ACT or SAT scores. |
Resident and Non-Resident Tuition Waivers
|
OU Scholars Program students receive their scholarship in
the form of a resident tuition waiver or non-resident tuition
waiver. Students who receive an OU Scholars Award have their tuition
waived for up to one-half of the stated amount of the scholarship during
the fall and spring semesters. |
In addition to the tuition waiver, Regents Scholars also
receive an Oklahoma Academic Scholars (OAS) cash award. This scholarship provides funding for tuition
and other fees, room and board, as well as required textbooks and
materials. OU Scholars who have also received an OAS scholarship
should direct any questions about the OAS scholarship to the National
Scholars Program. |
Application
|
In order to apply, students need only complete OU’s freshman admission application online. Submitting the completed application will qualify students to be considered for an OU Scholars award. The OU Scholars Selection Committee begins making awards in early October so that students and their families are informed of the awards in a timely fashion. |
