The 2008 program will begin for the 6-hour credit courses on Monday, June 2, on the OU campus in Norman and run through June 20, meeting Monday through Friday in the morning. The Oxford program will begin Sunday, June 29, and continue through Saturday morning, July 19. Students will be housed and take their meals at Brasenose College.
Brasenose College, founded in 1509, stands on High Street, Oxford University’s main thoroughfare. Distinguished members of the College include Robert Burton (1577-1640), author of The Anatomy of Melancholy; Elias Ashmole (1617-1692), whose collection formed the nucleus of the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford; William Webb Ellis (1807-1872), said to be the originator of rugby; William Golding (1911-1993), author of Lord of the Flies; Michael Palin of Monty Python.
