Each year, the Henderson Scholars Program identifies 20 students with diverse interests, perspectives, experiences, skills, and backgrounds who will contribute to an enriched educational, cultural and social environment at OU. Your gift can make a difference in the lives of these deserving students. A gift of $1,500 supports a student for a year and a gift of $6,000 supports a student for four years.
As we celebrate and honor the 20th year of Dr. George Henderson’s vision and mission for this program, I invite you to join us in furthering his legacy to help cultivate and mold more servant leaders here at the University of Oklahoma. Reflecting on the words of hip-hop artist Nipsey Hussle “Life is a marathon NOT a sprint”; this is not going to be an easy task but will be a journey worth your while. No matter how large or small, all gifts support HSP in providing access to higher education and creating opportunities for life-long service and learning. The HSP Fund is for experiential programming/activities, first-year scholar orientation, community-building retreats, scholar spirit t-shirts, First-Year Foundations (UCOL 1002) required materials/book Course Book scholarships, etc.
Henderson Scholars Program exists to provide access to higher education, educate a diverse group of scholars, and create opportunities for life-long service and learning. Envisioning we’re all in this relay race of building servant leaders through this mission, you have your baton consisting of your story, passion, skills, resources, philanthropy, etc. We invite you to unite with us as we pass along our baton for the next 20 years of HSP.
Our scholars come in as 1 but thrive with the support of 1,000. We want you to be one of those supporters.
