Recent CBN Grants

Dr. Bing Zhang was awarded a new R01 grant from the National Institutes of Health, entitled, “Genetics and cell biology of synaptic development and function” (2009-2014).

Dr. Robert Rennaker was awarded a new R01 grant from the National Institutes of Health, entitled, "Development of a distributed neural interface" (2009-2014).

Dr. Robert Cichewicz was awarded a new R21 grant from the National Institutes of Health, entitled, "Translating natural products into therapeutic leads for Huntington's Disease" (2009-2011).

Dr. Bing Zhang was awarded a new Health Research grant from the Oklahoma Center for the Advancement of Science and Technology, entitled, "Molecular and genetic analyses of ALS in fruit flies" (2009-2012).

Dr. David McCauley was awarded a new grant from the National Science Foundation, entitled, "SoxE gene duplication and the evolution of chondrogenesis" (2009-2012).

Dr. Robert Rennaker was awarded a new R01 grant from the National Institutes of Health, entitled, “Ensemble coding in olfactory cortex” (2008-2013).

Dr. Bing Zhang was awarded a new grant from the National Science Foundation, entitled, “Genetic and proteomic analysis of protein sorting and retrieval during synaptic vesicle endocytosis” (2008-2011) .

Dr. Ingo Schlupp was awarded a new grant from the National Science Foundation, entitled, “Evolutionary ecology of cave dwelling Poeciliid fish: the roles of darkness and toxic sulfur” (2008-2010).

Recent CBN Awards

Dr. Robert Rennaker was named a President's Associates Presidential Professor in 2009.

Dr. Randall Hewes was chosen as the Kinney-Sugg Outstanding Professor in the College of Arts & Sciences in 2007.

Dr. Robert Rennaker received a University of Oklahoma Alumni Teaching Award in 2007.

Eric Lee, a Ph.D. student in Dr. David McCauley's lab, won an award for best poster in the Division of Evolutionary Developmental Biology at the 2009 Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology conference in Boston.

Elise Knowlton, a student in Dr. Douglas Gaffin’s lab, won first place in the poster competition at the American Arachnology Society conference in summer 2008 at the University of California-Berkeley.
