Society of Fellows

Are you interested in law, politics and history? Do you enjoy discussing and debating political and constitutional issues? Are you engaged with the world around you?

The Society of Fellows is an honorary program intended to recognize and cultivate the best and brightest undergraduate students at OU. Each year, the Institute for the American Constitutional Heritage awards distinguished students from across campus a $1,000 scholarship.

Fellows are asked to meet the first Wednesday of every month for civic-oriented debates and discussion over dinner. The fellowship is dependent on participation. If a fellow misses two or more scheduled dinners, he or she will be considered ineligible to receive the scholarship.

Some recent dinner topics:

  • Partisan gerrymandering
  • Civil rights of noncitizens in America
  • Constitutionality of drone strikes

The application window for the 2018-2019 Society of Fellows has closed. Check back soon for details on this year's class.
