Welcome!IIE is the world’s largest professional society dedicated solely to the support of the industrial engineering profession and individuals involved with improving quality and productivity. Founded in 1948, IIE is an international, nonprofit association that provides leadership for the application, education, training, research, and development of industrial engineering. The University of Oklahoma chapter of IIE unites all undergraduate and graduate students in the School of Industrial and Systems Engineering. It strives to equip its members so that they enter the IE profession with an understanding of the possibilities within IE as well as an understanding of the ideas, purposes, and objectives needed to excel within the profession.

What is industrial engineering? Industrial engineering is concerned with the design, improvement and installation of integrated systems of people, materials, information, equipment and energy. It draws upon specialized knowledge and skill in the mathematical, physical, and social sciences together with the principles and methods of engineering analysis and design, to specify, predict, and evaluate the results to be obtained from such systems.
