The OU Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion announced a series of outreach and engagement activities that will take place virtually throughout the summer and are open to students, faculty and staff on the Norman, OU-Tulsa and HSC campuses.

Dr. Belinda Higgs Hyppolite, vice president of diversity, equity and inclusion and chief diversity officer, emphasized that a community-wide focus on these efforts is more critical now than ever before.

“As the university begins its transition to the summer session, the world is still facing many new challenges and opportunities,” she said. “The coronavirus has shown that many communities continue to struggle with inequities, access and socioeconomic struggles. I encourage all to participate in these events that are designed to increase awareness, foster education and inspire all to advocate for others.”

The events will focus on topics including the history of pride, undocumented and DACA students, exploring accessibility and more.
