Up to four University of Oklahoma students may serve as interns for the Impact Young Lives Foundation (IYL) . Internships are made available through the university's School of International & Area Studies and are offered in the fall and spring academic semesters.
Interns will enroll in IAS 3910. At a minimum, interns must:
• Read Mandela and Ross texts and watch “Amandla: Revolution in Four Part Harmony” or “Cry Freedom” then create a 10 to 15 slide power point presentation on South Africa.
• Create a second paper, which will juxtapose your experience at the Impact Young Lives Foundation with the Drucker and Bossidy texts with discussion and evaluation of your experiences related to the duties and responsibilities assigned using the texts as a framework. What did you learn from this experience? Be specific giving concrete examples from your experience and from the texts.
• The first paper will be due in the middle of the semester and the second paper upon completion of the internship.
• Complete the Campbell Leadership Assessment early in the semester.
