Transferring from CESL to another US School

You must transfer your SEVIS record to a new school if you wish to attend a different school or program within the US in your F-1 student visa status. Transferring your SEVIS record from OU CESL to another US school is a two-step process.

First, you must submit to OU ISS a transfer recommendation form from the school you plan to attend. We will complete form and send it to the new school. This is the first of two steps in transferring your SEVIS record to the new school.

After you have been admitted to your new school, submit a copy of the admission letter to the OU ISS office, and then request that the OU ISS office release your SEVIS record to the new school. You must also complete and submit a SEVIS Transfer Release Request form.

You will then request that your new school create a new I-20 for you that will have the name of your new school on it.

Your SEVIS record and I-20 will remain with OU until you request that we release your SEVIS record in writing, and provide proof of your admission to the new school. Please let us know if you have questions about the two-part process of transferring your SEVIS record  from CESL to another school.
