The International Advisory Committee (IAC) is the executive student body representing international students and coordinating international student organizations. IAC is a voice for international students on campus. Established over 20 years ago to unite all international and cultural associations, IAC sponsors and organizes annual events such as the International Bazaar and the annual Eve of Nations celebration. For further information on IAC or questions, send an email to Shannon English, or call 325-5126.
The OU Cousins program was created in 1996 by President and Mrs. David Boren as a way of developing understanding, friendship, and untiy amoung US and international students at the University of Oklahoma.
Through this program, students are matched according to hobbies, majors, and countries of special interest. Each international student is matched with one or two American students and invited to participate in monthly programs at no cost to the students. In addition, students are encouraged to get together outside of official Cousins events and share their respective cultures with one another through normal daily life. Go here to learn about OU Cousins program, and to be matched with your own OU Cousin!
The Friends to International Students program works to establish friendships between international students and the Norman community. Application forms are available in the University of Oklahoma office of International Student Services and Education Abroad for students who wish to be assigned a local family. Group activities are planned throughout the year. For further information on Friends to International Students, send an email to Diana Tiffany, or call 325-1607.
