SEVIS Transfer Information

Students who are transferring to OU or the OU Center for English as a Second Language (CESL) must transfer their SEVIS record and I-20 to OU.  You cannot transfer your SEVIS record to OU until you have been fully admitted to CESL or an OU degree program. You must obtain a transfer-in OU I-20 in order to maintain your valid F-1 status. Transferring your I-20 and SEVIS record to OU is a three-step process. 

1. Download an OU Transfer Recommendation Form from our website, posted under Forms and Documents.  Ask the International Student Services office at your current school to complete and fax the form to the OU International Student Services office.
2. Ask your current school to release your record to OU in SEVIS (school ID DAL214F10664000). Your current school should NOT release your SEVIS record to OU until you have been fully admitted to OU or the OU Center for English as a Second Language (CESL).
3. Complete and submit the I-20 request form located on our website under “Forms and Documents.” Please complete the request form and submit it to our office along with all required documentation so that we can create your OU I-20.  Once we have created your I-20, you can pick it up in person from our office, have a friend pick it up on your behalf (advise our office via email if you plan to do this), or we can send it to you in the US or abroad.
