Beginning August 1, OU IT will start the process of replacing OUmail with Microsoft Exchange 2007. Microsoft Exchange offers proven reliability, improved security, and tons of great features, including:

   * Calendaring 
   * Organizational tools like follow ups, reminders, tasks, and categories
   * Streamlined global directory 
   * Real time web interface 
   * Communication with mobile devices (smart phones)   
   * User friendly layout: visible folders, message list, and viewing pane.

The new Exchange interface is a web-based version of Microsoft Outlook: you can still access your email from any computer with internet access with no software downloads. Standard email protocols are also available for those wishing to use desktop software.

Will my email address change? No. 

Does it cost anything to use Exchange? No. 

What if I have a Mac? Outlook Web Access is totally web-based, so Mac users can check their mail online. You can also load your mail into a Mac desktop client like Thunderbird or MacMail using POP or IMAP.
