To: All Exchange Users Sick of Spam? So are we. Incoming spam has increased dramatically this summer. From May 1 to July 31, 2007, OU IT scanned, throttled, or tagged over 200,000,000 spam messages sent to ou.edu email addresses. Enable your Exchange Junk E-Mail Filter to ensure that OU IT can deliver tagged spam to the Junk E-Mail folder in your Exchange mailbox: 1. Turn on your general Email Anti-Spam Filter in your profile at https://account.ou.edu. * Make sure the Filter to "Spam" Folder radio button is selected. * Update your emergency contact information while you’re there! 2. Log into your Outlook Web Access at http://exchangeit.ou.edu. 3. Click Options > Junk E-mail 4. Select Automatically Filter Junk E-Mail. 5.You can set blocked senders on this page to eliminate emails from repeat spammers. Exchange also allows you to set personal rules for spam filtering. Rules allow you to filter mail with specific criteria into the folder of your choice. For instance, you could send every email with offensive language directly to the Deleted Items folder.  For more information about your Junk E-Mail filter or spam rules, visit http://www.ou.edu/itlabs/spam.htm.
