The office of Leadership & Volunteerism coordinates two annual recognition ceremonies -
Outstanding Senior Ceremony each fall and the Campus Awards Program each spring.

Leadership & Volunteerism also helps coordinate the selection process
of several individual student awards each semester.

Award Descriptions

All spring individual award applications are due by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, February 1, 2019.

Norman campus students may apply for individual campus awards (which are recognition only - not scholarships) via CASH.ou.edu.

Outstanding Seniors | one per college and one overall man & woman

  • Deadline
    • Applications will open in the fall. 
  • Description
    • Each year Sooner Parents recognizes the All-Around Outstanding Senior Man and Senior Woman at the University. Additionally, Sooner Parents presents an Award of Merit to the Outstanding Senior of each undergraduate college as selected by the college dean. To be eligible for consideration, a student must be fulltime, have earned a 3.25 grade point average and be a 4th or 5th year senior. Students can apply only one time for this recognition. 
  • Recognition
    • Recipients will be honored with their college dean at a reception and ceremony scheduled on a Friday afternoon in Beaird Lounge. They will also be recognized during the OU Football game the next day.

IMPORTANT:
Students are eligible to apply to more than one college
(ex: Honors College and additional college).

Homecoming Royalty

  • Description
    • Homecoming Royalty is chosen every year in the fall and is honored during halftime of the OU Homecoming football game.
  • Nominations
    • Candidates must be nominated by a campus student group.
    • Each organization may nominate one king candidate and/or one queen candidate. Organizations affiliated with both males and females may nominate a candidate of each gender. All organizations are responsible for notifying their candidate of his or her nomination.
    • Once a student is nominated, they will be sent the link to the Royalty Application.
