mission

The Lightwell Gallery is located in the central atrium of the School of Art & Art History at the University of Oklahoma. Its unique architectural space features a 50-foot-high, sky-lit ceiling and visibility from studios, offices, and hallways one and two stories above the gallery floor.

The mission of the Lightwell Gallery is to contribute significantly to the academic function of the SofA&AH and to provide and enhance educational opportunities for our students. The Lightwell also serves as a forum to connect the school and its students with the broader local and international community. Exhibitions at the Lightwell range from those featuring student work and competitions to group and solo shows involving contemporary artists from around the world.
