Welcome to the web home of the Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) site for study in the area of metrology, the science of measurement. Our summer research program is located in the School of Industrial Engineering on the beautiful Norman campus of the University of Oklahoma. The objective of our REU is to formally introduce and involve undergraduate students in research in manufacturing inspection methods and equipment. By exposing more students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines to this important area, we attempt to improve the nation's competitiveness in manufacturing and producting maintenance through the development of quality infrastructure.

If you are an undergraduate student studying in engineering, mathematics, science, or technology fields, and if you are interested in an exciting research opportunity in the Summer of 2009, we would love to conduct research and learn with you! Browse our site, and fill out the online application to tell us more about yourself.

The Summer 2009 REU program runs from June 3 to August 7, 2009.

The Metrology REU is sponsored by the National Science Foundation and the US Department of Defense. Principal Investigator for the Metrology REU is Dr. Shivakumar Raman, and co-Principal Investigator is Dr. Binil Starly.
