Survey Results
The students that took part in the 2007 Metrology REU program were asked to rate their change in ability for several research skills. These data are presented below. Detailed student surveys are available by request for those interested, including information regarding underepresented minorities in STEM disciplines.
| Research Ability | Student Response |
| Conduct literature surveys | 81.8% of students said their ability to conduct literature surveys improved, with 27.3% having significant improvement |
| Formulate hypotheses | 81.8% of students said their ability to formulate hypothesis improved |
| Design experiments | 91% of students said their ability to design experiments improved |
| Analyze data | 91% of students said their ability to analyze data improved, with 9.1% having significant improvement |
| Interpret data | 81.8% of students said their ability to interpret data improved, with 18.2% having significant improvement |
| Writing reports | 91% of students said their ability to write reports improved, with 18.2% having significant improvement |
| Oral presentations | 81.8% of students said their ability to give oral presentations improved, with 27.3% having significant improvement |
