Prospective Graduate Applicant:

The Graduate Application Forms to apply for either the Master or Ph.D. program in the Mewbourne School of Petroleum and Geological Engineering may be found at http://gradweb.ou.edu. Additional information about the program may be found at http://www.ou.edu/mewbourneschool.

Requirements for admission:

  • TOEFL/IELTS: Only a candidate for whom English is not their native language is required to submit an official TOEFL score of at least 213 (computer exam) or 550 (written exam) or IELTS score of 6.5 or better.
  • GRE scores
  • Statement of purpose
  • Three letters of recommendation

Please send GRE scores, statement of purpose, three letters of recommendation directly to the department and NOT to the office of admissions and records. ONLY TOEFL and application material need to be sent to the office of admisions and records.

Only admitted applicants to the Mewbourne School of Petroleum and Geological Engineering may submit a resume for graduate assistantship consideration. Please note that all assistantship appointments are made after August 1st for Fall Semester and after December 1st for Spring Semester.
