Eileen Luna-Firebaugh

Eileen Luna-Firebaugh is Associate Professor of American Indian Law and Policy in the American Indian Studies Program at the University of Arizona. She is Choctaw and Cherokee. Professor Luna-Firebaugh is an attorney and a member of the California Bar. She is an Appellate Judge for the Colorado River Indian Tribes, with jurisdiction in both Arizona and California. She is also a faculty member of the National Tribal Judge College, funded by the U.S. Department of Justice. She was Principal Investigator for the National Institute of Justice evaluation of STOP Violence Against Indian Women programs, and for a National Institute of Health study of family violence programs in Australian Aboriginal communities. She was also a consultant to the Harvard CIRCLE Project, a joint USDOJ and Tribal project on juvenile justice, She is the author of “Policing Indian America: the Juncture of Sovereignty and Justice,” University of Arizona Press, and a number of articles on tribal policing and tribal administration..
