George Tah-bone, Indian Probate Judge, U.S. Department of Interior, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. From 2000 to 2004, George was the Indian Probate Judge at Bismarck, North Dakota. Mr. Tah-bone’s tribal court experiences include being the former Chief Tribal Judge for the Ute Indian Tribe of the Uintah and Ouray Reservation, Fort Duchesne, Utah, Chief Judge for the Cheyenne-Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma, Supreme Court Justice for Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma. He was appointed by the Bureau of Indian Affairs as the Chief Magistrate for the Seminole Agency Court of Indian Offences, Chief Magistrate for the Chickasaw Agency Court of Indian Offenses, Chief Magistrate for the Court of Indian Offences Muskogee Area Tribes, and Magistrate for Anadarko Agency Area Tribes and Miami Agency Area Tribes. Mr. Tah-bone’s public interest law experience includes Legal Aid of Western Oklahoma, Alaska Legal Services, and the Native American Rights Fund, Boulder, Colorado. For many years Mr. Tah-bone has been affiliated with the University of Wisconsin-Madison Land Law and Tenure Program. George is a graduate of Carnegie High School, Carnegie, Oklahoma, University of Colorado, Boulder and the University Of Denver College Of Law.
