Specific Interests Regarding NVC:
Dr. Manusov's primary interest in the study of nonverbal communication
focuses on the
symbolic value
given to certain nonverbal cues and the ways in which these meanings
reflect
cultural and social positions.
Her work also concerns nonverbal patterns that emerge over an
interaction and how nonverbal cues also work to
shape or pattern
the
content
of what is said. She has recently co-edited The Sage Handbook of
Nonverbal Communication, with Miles Patterson, and is committed to
interdisciplinary approaches
to the study of nonverbal cues.
