Digital Days started at Lakeview Elementary School in Norman, OK. This school was holding an interactive learning day in their library and asked if we would like to partner with them and bring the 3D printer and new educational technologies such as Tiggly, Ozmo, Ozobots, and Mini Robots (MIP) to share with the students. Each of these technologies allowed them to engage in real world applications of logic, math, spelling, progrmaming, spatial reasoning, and electricity.
Our mission is to bring future classroom technologies to the students and teachers of area school districts. This allows them to have a hands on experience and engage with the technologies to determine if they would like to implement them into everday classroom use. Through this program we reached 5,500 students and allowed them to learn through visual manipulation and in a hands on and interactive environment.
OneU traveled out to Lakeview Elementary School with some College of Education students and a bunch of technology. Our purpose? To show the students and teachers what new technologies are out there and how to work them into the classroom.
Students love hands on learning with robotics in the classroom. Ozobots and other small robots are an excellent way to get students introduced to technology, teamwork, and programming at any age.
The Oculus Rift allows students to explore new worlds beyond their imagination. Students can view what it might be like to walk the surface of the moon or look around Galileo's Workshop.
