| Robert Thurman
is Jey Tsong Khapa Professor of Indo-Tibetan Buddhist Studies and
Director of the Religious Studies program, Columbia University. Dr.
Thurman has made teachings of the Buddha more meaningful and interesting
to Americans than any other Western. In doing so, he has become one
of America’s leading voices of sanity and peace in the new millennium.
He received his Ph.D. from Harvard University and has studied in Tibetan
Buddhist monasteries in India and the United States. In 1997, Time
Magazine chose him as one of its 25 most influential Americans. His
most recent book is Inner Revolution: Life, Liberty and the Pursuit
