In the past few years, the Office of Research Administration (ORA) has seen tremendous growth in the research enterprise at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. From cancer to diabetes research, OUHSC's research programs are committed to excellence. With this in mind, this site was developed to enable you to find the information and services you need in order to continue this growth.
The Grants Section provides information on Funding Sources as well as Proposal Development resources. On the Grant Resources page, you will find ORA routing forms and information commonly needed for proposal submission.
The Grants Section staff provide a variety of services to assist OUHSC faculty and staff with obtaining and managing sponsored research, training, and public service projects awarded by a variety of federal, state, local, and non-profit funding agencies.
The functions of the Grants Section include the following services:
• Assist with identifying funding sources and funding announcements
• Provide advice about proposal preparation and form completion
• Proposal review and sign-off
• Prepare, review, and negotiate all grant related contracts and subawards
• Post-award assistance with rebudgets, extensions, and carryforwards
• Ensure compliance with sponsor and University policies
• Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) negotiation and acceptance
Financial reporting and all other post award financial support is provide by Grants & Contracts Accounting.

ORA Employee Spotlight
Mitzi Jones, our Staff Assistant, recently celebrated her 7th year anniversary with the ORA. Mitzi provides administrative support to the management team for ORA, and her long and varied experience has afforded her the opportunity to train most of the new administrative secretaries for many years. As a seasoned member of the ORA administrative staff, she is also integrally involved with many special projects often regarding file maintenance and storage, and database maintenance. Mitzi was an OUHSC Employee of the Month in FY 2008, is a loyal employee to the OUHSC, and is a huge OU fan. Boomer!
