


The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center is actively involved in many aspects of clinical research. From cancer to diabetes clinical research, OUHSC is a central academic health center in the state of Oklahoma. With this in mind, the Industry-Sponsored Research Team's goal is to facilitate legally-sound, compliant, research agreements in a professional, service-friendly manner.
The functions of this team include the following:
• Review and sponsor negotiation of industry-sponsored research related agreements such as confidentiality agreements (CDA), clinical trial agreements (CTA), Letters of Indemnification (LOI), and any corresponding amendments to these agreements; as well as other industry related agreements such as material transfer agreements (MTA). Common Contract Issues at OUHSC include: Arbitration, Confidentiality, Indemnification, Insurance, Publication & Termination.
• Board of Regents signatory for execution of all industry-related agreements.
• Notification to IRB of agreement finalization for release of IRB letter and consents to begin study.
• Distribution of necessary contractual documents for assignment of financial CAccount.
• Works closely with related OUHSC central offices to ensure compliance with university policy and procedures.
• Post-award administration of contracts/agreements such as amendment review/negotiation and CAccount extension processing,

Mitzi Jones, our Staff Assistant, recently celebrated her 7th year anniversary with the ORA. Mitzi provides administrative support to the management team for ORA, and her long and varied experience has afforded her the opportunity to train most of the new administrative secretaries for many years. As a seasoned member of the ORA administrative staff, she is also integrally involved with many special projects often regarding file maintenance and storage, and database maintenance. Mitzi was an OUHSC Employee of the Month in FY 2008, is a loyal employee to the OUHSC, and is a huge OU fan. Boomer!
Simply email your SPA a Clinical CAccount Extension Request. Your SPA will process the CAccount request so long as 1) your IRB is active and continuing review is approved appropriately and 2) the contract has not terminated or ended.
