OU IT offers a unique, real-world professional experience for undergraduate and graduate students attending the University of Oklahoma. No matter the major, students can apply and interview for the OU IT Internship Program. Those who qualify have access to structured training in high demand career skills valued by corporate partners. The program also gives these students opportunities to practice what they are learning at OU by gaining real work experience on campus projects in a true team environment with OU IT’s full-time staff.
OU IT partners with industry leaders in the private and public sectors to create a pipeline of talented, skilled, experienced professionals to help close critical workforce gaps on the horizon.
Rebecca was our first Data Integration Intern. Working closely with a team of data analysts, engineers, and architects, Rebecca completed a 16-week internship in OU Information Technology during the last semester of her senior year. She graduated in May 2018 and moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma to launch her career in the financial sector. She said the best thing about her internship with OU IT was the opportunity to work with a group of students in her major, share designs, challenges, and watch her peers discover their own personal style!

What Our Interns Say
"During my internship experience on the Data Services team, the entire team has made me feel welcomed and supported. This experience has not only educated me on how the integration process works on a customer-facing level, but has also helped prepare me for my job after graduation."
Rebecca, OU IT Data Integration Intern
““My favorite part of this internship is how much there is to learn and how many resources I have at my disposal. Every time I learn a new tool or skill, I am able to find ten others that interest me. I love how everything I learn in this internship is applicable to my future career in information security.”
Matt, OU IT Cybersecurity Intern
“It vastly exceeded my initial expectations. It sharpened my professional skills, giving me a diverse range of new skillsets.
Not only did I learn a lot about voice user interfaces, automation, and the Internet of Things, I learned so much more about professional communication, coding and development, documentation, and especially project management.”
Lac, OU IT Voice and IoT Innovation Intern
“The skills I have learned during my internship were always in a real-world setting. The team I worked with had a wealth of knowledge that they were always ready to impart to me. I know this will be incredibly beneficial to me when I look for jobs in industry.”
Dawson, OU IT AV Systems Engineering Intern
