Self-defense instructors from the OU Police Department hold regular classes in self-defense. These classes are FREE and are open to any individual, group, or organization in the University community.![]()
Classes are designed so that an individual can attend one or more identical sessions and learn how to avoid an attack and techniques used to escape an attacker. Other relevant information is also presented.Our program is headed by instructors that are State of Oklahoma CLEET certified police defensive tactics instructors with extensive training experiance with both police defensive tactics and civilan self defense techniques. Special classes for groups can be arranged in advance by coordinating with the OUPD Crime Prevention Unit. If you would like to schedule a class for your group or organization please call 325-2864, e-mail OUPD Crime Prevention, or use the on-line Public Presentation Request Form on this site.These classes usually meet from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at the Huston Huffman Center, Activity Room 1 on the OU Norman Campus. If you plan to attend any session please wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Access to the Huston Huffman Center for class participants is free for non-students.
