![]() You see a glimpse of a snake in the grass, or between some rocks... Is it venomous? Do you grab it and pull it out to find out what kind of snake it is? This test will allow you to attempt to identify a number of non-venomous and venomous snakes which you might encounter on an outing in Oklahoma. The test has "slides" showing a small portion of the colors/pattern of the snake's body. From that glimpse, you must guess the type of snake. This test is best viewed at 65k-color or 16.7m-color modes (higher than 256-color mode.) There are 60 "slides" or "questions" on the test, however, you can quit at any time and return to the Perilous Partners page. There are several ways to take the test:
Take out a sheet of paper and a pen/pencil and, when you're ready, press the START THE TEST! button below. As each slide is presented, write down your answers. Your answer can take two forms:
One of the purposes of this test is to show people that even if they're " pretty sure" they know what a venomous snake looks like, just a " glimpse" can be deceiving! Can you tell a rattlesnake without seeing the rattle? Give all snakes their space and let them go about their business. Remember, if you correctly identify a snake in the woods and pick it up or crowd it, it's a small victory; BUT, if you mis-identify one its a HUGE mistake (and potentially VERY dangerous)! Last word of advice: Even non-venomous snakes bite! Ready for the test? Press the "START THE TEST!" button, below, to begin! ![]() "Hey! I don't have time for a 60-slide test! Can I take a quick test?" ![]() Well, er, ok... Press the "QUICK TEST" button, on the right, to take a 10-slide test. But it's not as much fun as the big test! ![]() |
