    Student oZONE Instructions

The following links lead to explanations and instructions for oZONE channels and the functions provided in them. Links open in new windows.

Enroll in December Intersession and Spring 2010 Term channel

Enrollment will be conducted through this channel beginning with advance registration for December 2009 Intersession and spring 2010.

    oZONE Enrollment Basics for Students

    1. Get Advised - All undergraduate students, with the exception of some Business students, still must be advised before they can register.
Check Advising Status - see if your advisor has cleared your advising flag.

    2. Use Enrollment Window and Registration Status to Check for Holds - Students could have Holds which stop them from registering. Registration Status will indicate if you have any Holds, and there is a link on the Registration Status page for you to View Holds. You can also see your Registration Time in Registration Status.

      Contact Information for Resolving Holds

    3. Look Up Classes - Before your registration window opens, you can search for classes through Look Up Classes.
The Class Schedule Search page functions very much like the Power Search in online enrollment.
      • You can search by Subject (Department), course number, title, schedule type (lecture, lab, seminar, etc.), instructional method (online, traditional), credit hour range (new with oZONE), campus, course level, part of term, duration, instructor, attribute type, start time, end time, or days.
      • General Education categories, Bio-Station, Honors and Upper Division are all in the Attribute Type list.
      • The % symbol is a wild card that can be used in combination with other search criteria. For example: If you select all the subjects, you can add in the course number 3% and pick an attribute and you will get all 3000-level courses with that attribute. However, if you search for more than one attribute at a time you will get any upper-division course and any courses with that attribute type.

For December Intersession and Spring 2010 enrollment, you will not be able to build trial schedules in oZONE. You can still plan ahead and find class sections you want, and if you wish you can note the CRNs (Course Reference Numbers) for those sections to use as shortcuts later when you enroll.

    4. Enroll and Add/Drop Classes - When your Registration time comes, click Enroll and Add/Drop.

      You can EITHER

      • If you’ve ‘done your homework’ and have the CRNs for sections you want, you can enter those CRNs in the Add Classes Worksheet and click Register.

      • OR

      • If you do not already have CRNs identified, you can search for classes while still on the Add or Drop Classes page and add them to your schedule, just as you’ve done in the past.

      Registration Add Errors
You may still encounter Registration Add Errors, such as prerequisites, corequisites, special permission requirements, time conflicts, etc., when trying to enroll. This is not new, course prerequisites and registration restrictions have been in place for many years. Previously if you had registration errors in enroll.ou.edu, those errors all displayed at the same time. In oZONE the Registration Add Errors will display one at a time as you resolve the errors.

The policies governing resolution of these registration errors have not changed.  The error messages indicate what is needed to resolve them. See Registration Add Errors: What They Are and How to Resolve Them for more information.

Email confirmation – Email confirmations still are sent immediately when Course Overrides are issued; enrollment and add/drop confirmations are sent out nightly.
