Wayne Thomas joined the University of Oklahoma in 2000. He has taught financial accounting, intermediate accounting, international financial statement analysis, and capital markets. He is co-author of Intermediate Accounting 10e with David Spiceland and Mark Nelson (McGraw-Hill). He also co-authors Financial Accounting 5e with David Spiceland and Don Herrmann (McGraw-Hill).
Professor Thomas’ research interests include accounting information in capital markets, techniques used by managers to manipulate earnings, the importance of financial disclosures, and financial statement analysis. He has published articles in The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting Research, Journal of Accounting & Economics, Contemporary Accounting Research, and several other journals. He has served as an editor for The Accounting Reviewand an associate editor for the Journal of International Accounting Research.
He enjoys spending time with his wife Julee and four kids, Olivia, Jake, Eli and Luke. His hobbies include basketball, tennis, golf, ping pong, the outdoors, and crossword puzzles.
