Accelerated BBA/MAcc in Accountancy

The Master of Accountancy (MAcc) program at OU is designed to prepare students not only to pass the CPA exam*, but also for positions of responsibility in the accounting profession. It combines a broad-based business curriculum with in-depth accounting training, affording students the opportunity to specialize in chosen areas of accounting practice. Traditional and Accelerated students may specialize in tax, audit, or data analytics.

Degree Requirements

The residential MAcc program requires 33 graduate credit hours. In the accelerated BBA/MAcc option, students complete the BBA and MAcc degrees in a combined 5 years by including up to 5 hours for both undergraduate and graduate credit.

Admissions Requirements

The accelerated BBA/MAcc program is open to current accounting majors at OU who have successfully completed 75 credit hours.

Admission decisions are based on a number of factors including performance in prior undergraduate/graduate coursework, a GMAT or GRE score, employment history and a statement of the applicant's personal goals. You may also include letters of recommendation, however they are not required. Admission decisions are generally made after the application deadline, but early admission decisions are possible for the most highly qualified applicants.

GMAT Waivers

  • 60 credit hours earned at the University of Oklahoma.

*The OU MAcc program meets the educational requirements to sit for the CPA exam in Oklahoma and Texas. We have made no determination as to whether or not the program meets the educational requirements of any other state. We believe it likely that our program can meet the minimum educational requirements necessary for the CPA credential in all US jurisdictions, but each student should carefully review the requirements in any jurisdiction in which they intend to practice to ensure that their program of study includes all courses required.
